SUNDAY MORNINGS

Here's what to expect when visiting Uptown Kids on a Sunday morning:

First, our Sunday schedule: During the school year (with a few breaks for holidays), we have Sunday School at 9 am for all ages, and then Nursery (babies - 4 year olds) & Children's Church (Pre K - 2nd grade) available during the 10:30 am worship service.

Next, Sunday School Locations:

For Nursery-aged children (infants through 4 years old), follow signs to the nursery lobby and stop at the table marked for first-time families. There we will meet your family, check your child into our system, and then one of our volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate room. Nursery is available to your children during Sunday School and Worship.

Lower Elementary children (preK - 1st grade) follow signs to the second floor and stop at the check-in table outside the Lower Elementary classroom. This is a self-manned station where parents check their children in and receive a tag to use at pickup.

Upper Elementary children (2nd - 5th grade) follow signs past the nursery lobby to the cafe on the 1st floor. Upper Elementary children check themselves in at a self-manned station, so first-time families please walk with your child to this station to meet a teacher and help them check in to our system! This age group is dismissed at the end of Sunday School, so parents be sure to communicate with your child beforehand where they should meet you when Sunday School is over!

Lastly, Children's Church:

Children's Church is available in two locations, based on age, during the sermon. PreK and kindergarten children will head to the Lower Elementary Classroom on the 2nd floor, and 1st & 2nd grade children will go to the Upper Elementary Classroom in the Cafe on the 1st floor. Volunteers check these children in and then sign them out with a parent following worship, but first-time families are welcome to accompany your child to Children's Church.

How check-in works

Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):

  • Parent/guardian name(s)
  • Child's name
  • Child's birthdate
  • Home address
  • Phone number
  • Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children

Before Nursery & Sunday School: Check in your child at the kiosk outside of their classroom. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold onto the matching tag.

After Service: After the service or Sunday School is complete, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

During Sunday School or Worship: In the event that we need to contact you while your child is in our care, you'll receive a text message through our database system with necessary details.

Baby Breakroom

Our baby breakroom is located on the 2nd floor and is available to mothers of young babies who might need a break during the worship service. This private room has a live audio feed from the service so you can listen while tending to your baby's needs. From the sanctuary, exit through the front right double doors and follow the signs.
